Communication, Autism and Technology (CAT)

Description
The Communication, Autism, and Technology (CAT) personnel preparation grant was awarded to Jane Wegner, Ph.D. Wegner is the director of the Schiefelbusch Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic, director of the Pardee Augmentative and Alternative Communication Resource and Research Laboratory, and a clinical professor in the Intercampus Program in Communicative Disorders at the University of Kansas.
The CAT project is for KU speech-language pathology graduate students who would like to receive specialized training in augmentative communication and autism spectrum disorders. Participation in CAT provides graduate students with a two-year field experience with a student with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and their family.
In addition to supporting families, the graduate students will participate in a specialized, research-based academic curriculum and reflective practice.
