New Awards (not previously funded)

1. Lawrence Christian (Eric Venberg and Michael Roberts – mentors) received a new, two-year F32 award entitled “A Randomized Trial of a School-based Mentoring Program for Aggressive Children” from NICHD that began August 6, 2010.

2. Richard Saunders received a new, one-year ARRA award for his Program Project “Communication of People with Mental Retardation” from NICHD that began September 1, 2010.

3. Sara Sack received a new, one-year ARRA award entitled “Assistive Technology Services for VR Customers” from KsSRS that began September 1, 2010.

4. Jerry Schultz, Stephen Fawcett and Vicki Collie-Akers received a new, two-year award “Mobilizing to Reduce Health Disparities Among Latinos in Wyandotte County” from CDC that began September 30, 2010.

5. Wendy Parent received a new, one-year award entitled “Kanas Employment Initiative” from KsSRS that began October 1, 2010.

6. Jerry Schultz and Stephen Fawcett received a new, two-year award “Proposal to Evaluate the Impact of CADCA’s Coalition Training in Lima, Peru” from prime contractor MSU, flow through funds from Alvarez/Department of State that began October 1, 2010.

7. Wendy Parent, Richard Johnson and Kathleen Olson received a new, nine-month award “Think College Kansas: Supporting Individuals with Intellectual or Other Developmental Disabilities” from AUCD/Think College that began January 1, 2011.

8. Vickie Collie-Akers received a new, six-month award “Socioeconomic Status Related Cancer Disparities Program (SESRCED) from the American Psychological Association that began February 15, 2011. 9.

9. Michael Wehmeyer received a new, four-year award “Development and Validation of the Supports Intensity Scale for Children” from prime contractor Vanderbilt University, flow-through from DE-IES, that began July 1, 2011.

10. Rachel Freeman received a new, four-month award “Sedgwick County CDDO PBES Pilot Project” From Sedgwick County, Kansas that began August 22, 2011.

11. John Colombo and Peter Smith received a five-year renewal “Kansas Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Research Center (KIIDDRC)” from NICHD that began September 26, 2011.

12. Glen White received a five-year renewal “Rehabilitation Research and Training Center on Community Living” from DE-NIDRR that began October 1, 2011.

13. Mary Abbott received a new, three-year award “Phase 2: Effectiveness of Mobile EBASS-Classroom” from DE-IES that began October 1, 2011.

14. Kathryn Saunders received a new, two-year award “Improving Outcomes for Young Children with Hearing Impairments and Other Disabilities: Technology for Audiometric Assessment” from DE-IES that began October 1, 2011.

15. Jean Ann Summers received a new, three-year award “Development of a Distance Mentorship Program to Improve Services for Children with Deaf-Blindness” from DE-IES that began October 1, 2011.

16. Amy McCart received a new, one-year award “Intensive Positive Behavioral Support – Implementing a Response to Intervention Model for Families with Behavioral and Mental Health Needs” from the Health Care Foundation of Greater Kansas City that began October 1, 2011.
