The infancy to preschool early literacy connection: Validation studies of the Early Communication Indicator (ECI) of growth and development
This is a current project.
The Juniper Gardens Children’s Project, in conjunction with SRI International and the Frank Porter Graham Child Development Institute, has created a national center on outcomes for young children with disabilities. The Center conducts research, training and technical assistance, collaboration and leadership activities, and produces and disseminates written materials. This project is working with Early Head Start and Head Start programs in Kansas to investigate the Early Communication Indicator (ECI), which measures the ability of children to communicate before they begin talking (prelinguistic) and once they talk (linguistic).
