Expanding Assistive Technology (AT) reutilization efforts to include organizational, navigational and high-cost technologies
This is a completed project.
Description
This project is establishing partnerships with national manufacturers of handheld and converged mobile organization and navigational technology devices, such as Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs) and smart phones, to recycle technology to persons with cognitive and learning disabilities. Among the goals is to increase the inventory of Durable Medical Equipment (DME) (wheelchairs, canes, etc.), especially those that are high-cost and lightly used, and bariatric equipment (which assists with obesity and related issues). The project also is identifying reuse programs in Kansas to address state and national emergency preparedness.
