New report focuses on improving online learning among students with disabilities
Researchers with the Center on Online Learning and Students with Disabilities have issued an in-depth analysis of the online education policies in all 50 states and five U.S. territories with recommendations for improving online and blended learning for students.
The report, “Equity Matters: Digital and Online Learning for Students with Disabilities,” was based on forums, surveys, interviews, observations and data analysis involving stakeholders in K-12 online learning, among them administrators, teachers, parents and students. Authors are James Basham, William Stahl, Kelsey Ortiz, Mary Frances Rice and Sean Smith.
The Center on Online Learning is a partnership of the KU Center for Research on Learning, the nonprofit Center for Applied Science Technology and the National Association of State Directors of Special Education. Funding comes from the Office of Special Education Programs, U.S. Department of Special Education.
